Their story dates back to 1964, when the young Gaspar Perelló created his business and his brand after his own surname Perelló, with the simple image of a single large green olive, the gordal.
Gaspar had been mentored in Alcalá de Gaudaíra and taught the art of selecting the best olives southern Spain could provide. The Perelló olive curing and packing operation Gaspar set up, soon began selling olives and pickles to stallholders at Barcelona’s famous Boqueria market . Gaspar’s olive range included northern and southern varieties – gordal, manzanilla, empeltre and arbequina, alongside some excellent pickles.
