Lacuma is a subtropical Andean fruit. The caramel coloured powder can be used in food and drink in place of sugar or other conventional sweeteners. It has a sweet, buttery taste that compliments many recipes such as cakes, cookies and desserts.
Marvellous Superfood's lucuma is grown in orchards in Peru. The fruits are placed in hay baskets after falling from the tree in the spring - with time the fruit lose their hardness and are ready for production. To produce our powder the fruit is washed, dehydrated at a sensitive temperature and then milled into a fine powder.
