Part-time storeroom assistant

3 days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9am start until 3pm so can happily fit around a school run

We are looking for someone to help deal with the weekly cycle of deliveries and stock rotation in our retail warehouse in Lampeter.

We have a warehouse in one of our units on the trading estate in Lampeter, where we house all our ambient, chilled and frozen stock for the business. This warehouse is managed by our Retail Warehouse and Stock manager, and she needs an assistant.

Tasks to include:

  • Checking in of deliveries from small courier parcels, to 3 pallets in size. Learning the quirks of all our lovely suppliers, and understanding the nature of what we sell and responding to any problems.
  • Product verification: ensuring we have received what we have ordered, following up on any damaged deliveries, requesting credits from suppliers and keeping track of the paperwork side of things too.
  • Putting stock away in our lovely warehouse, be it ambient, chilled or frozen. Knowing what goes where upon delivery - what the shops might be waiting on and ensuring they have everything that they need at all times.
  • Stock rotation, following our systems, and developing some new ones along the way. Spotting short date stock and responding to that. Highlighting over and under stocks to the manager.
  • Picking stock to go to our shops in Lampeter and Aberaeron.
  • Picking stock for our home delivery department.
  • Completing regular stock counts.
  • Following our daily tasks board: completing weekly checks and cleaning, and responding to the needs of the business.

This role is very physically demanding, on your feet all shift and moving a large quantity of stock through the business including pallets of 25kg flour sacks, working at height when putting stock onto very high shelves, and working in minus 18 degrees when putting away frozen stock.

    Bakery assistant 3/4 days per week

    Mondays and Saturdays with flexibility to work 1 or 2 additional days

    8.5 hours per day

    £12/hr with potential to increase to £12.50/hr following successful training

    Our Bakery here at Watson & Pratts produces amazing sourdough bread, delicious cakes, pastries and other baked goods and we are looking for a new team member, to be part of our thriving and expanding bakery.

    We are based in the rural market town of Lampeter, West Wales and cater for our two amazing shops, local businesses and Home Delivery customers, providing a range of high standard products, which are renowned in the locality and beyond.

    Our team currently consists of energetic, food loving bakers and bakery assistants, who work closely to produce our speciality sourdough, delicious pastries, and other baked goods.

    We are looking for someone, with bakery experience, who loves our product and who wants to work in a high-paced bakery environment.

  • be on our rota for early shifts starting at either 4.00, 5.00 or 6.00am
  • work Mondays, & Saturdays and has the flexibility to work 1 or 2 additional days

  • work consistently & respond to direction
  • work closely with our bakers and bakery cleaner, to make our high-quality product
  • work diligently to maintain our high hygiene standards & keep a clean and tidy workspace
